Argentine Asados are the place where people, food, and experience meet. This combined transforms into a culinary spectacle. Three essential elements converge to create the perfect experience. Two of them rely on the skills of the grill master: achieving the ideal serving point for each cut of meat and ensuring that what’s served is irresistibly flavorful. However, the third fundamental piece resides in the accompaniments that elevate the grill and truly provide an experience that is unmatched…

Argentine Asado Accompaniments: Beyond Salads!

Yes! There are options beyond the classic salads that add a distinctive touch to the Asado. Among our recommendations is the delicious option of grilled corn on the cob, because nothing says “grill sophistication” like corn on the cob dressed in a buttery cape.

Our complete Recipe for Grilling Corn on The Cob:

Ingredients:

  • 5 yellow corn cobs
  • 60 grams of butter
  • Fine salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 5 grams of Curry Powder
  • 5 grams of Sweet Chilli

Instructions:

  1. Hydrate the corn cobs (complete with the husks) by placing them in a dish of warm salted water for about 2 hours.
  2. Take them out of the bowl and let them rest for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to low-medium heat. Once the desired temperature is reached, place the corn on the grill without opening the husks. It takes approximately 40 minutes on the fire, rotating occasionally and taking care not to let the husk brown or burn.
  4. In a bowl, mix the butter with salt, curry powder, sweet chili and ground pepper. Ensure that the butter is softened by leaving it outside the refrigerator until it reaches the desired consistency.
  5. About 6 minutes before removing the corn from the grill, open the husks and spread the butter mixture over them.
  6. Wait until the butter is golden and melted. Ready to serve!

Note: If you want to shorten the grilling time, you can boil the corn for 10 minutes before grilling. This step is only to expedite the cooking process, so not to worry, the flavor of the smoky grilled corn will not be lost!
